Delphia H. Bennett of Bismarck, Missouri passed away April 6, 2017 in Festus, Missouri at the age of 93 years. She was born November 27, 1923 in Goodwater, Missouri the daughter of William and Maude (Hedrick) Helms.
On November 9, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ezra E. Bennett who preceded her in death on June 9, 1977. Delphia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Ralph Crocker of Bismarck, Missouri; daughter, Lucille Waggoner of Mesa, AZ, and her sister, Betty Henson of Pilot Knob, Missouri. Delphia is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Delphia was preceded in death by five brothers; Claude Helms, Glen Helms, Leonard Helms, Louis "Louie" Helms, and William "Jr." Helms, four sisters; Hazel Voisey, Pauline Smith, Margaret Shy, and Laverne Giles, a great grandson; Cody Dylan Crocker, and two step daughters; Ruby Kipping and Peggy Althoff.
Delphia was a member of the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church. She worked for thirty eight years at the Ursuline Academy in Arcadia as a cook and housekeeper.
